Autumn begins

Sunday, September 23, 2012

The first day of autumn was yesterday and this weekend I've been quite a cooking maniac. Friday I made Beer cheese Soup that I severed in Honey wheat bread bowls. I used Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale and Shelburne Farms 2 year Cheddar. I changed the recipe only a little ~ if you knew me that statement would cause extreme laughter since I have yet to actually follow a pattern without changing it, that goes for knitting as well. At any rate, I added carrots and chicken stock. Saturday I made my Papa's marinara sauce and the change: I added pork and beef and simmered for I'm not sure how long since I was knitting and watching Resident Evil. Today I am making a nice Angus roast with carrots and potatoes with some biscuits. The change, honestly I'm not sure since I don't think I've ever looked at a recipe for roast before and I don't think that I've ever made it the same way twice. In my last post I talked about "create day" ~ it was all that we wanted it to be except the picture part. I need a new camera. I think that they only make things with a shelf life so you have to buy new ones ヽ(・_・;)ノ I am almost finished with the sweater I'm knitting for my mom. Thank God. I've also started a vest for Layne. I have a couple gifts that I'm planning on doing for Christmas and I've done a small amount of spinning. I wish that I had more time for all my projects and spending time with my family, especially now that fall is here. It puts me in a strange place when I get my list and supplies ready for Christmas and then my work starts to get busier. And at the same time I've been dealing with a bad back. I commute 92.5 miles to work each day, that's 185 miles round trip each day, about 4 hours of driving. I've been doing this for almost 5 years now and its taken its toll. For the past year and a half I've seen 3 separate doctors and done various hours of physical therapy, the pain seems to get better for awhile and then without notice its gets worse than it ever was before. Right now, I have sacrum spasms, pain in the right side of my lumbar spine and my sciatic nerve is so inflamed that when it flares up I have difficultly doing any thing. I'm walking with a limp now because if I put all my weight on my leg the pain is so severe that I'm bought to tears. Now the doctor is going to do a MRI and find out what the hell is going on. Ugggg ~(>_<~) All I know is that I am more stressed than I have ever been and the pain is making me insane. But autumn is just beginning so I will remain hopeful.
