Themed crafting

Currently my crafting focus is on creating a "semi" steampunk bedroom for Layné. And trying to do it as inexpensive as possible.

There's been a lot done so I figured I'd break it up over a few posts.

First off was a shelf unit, which was constructed from pvc pipe and some corrugated cardboard I got from work.

All pieces were first cut and then spray painted.

Then I used a crumpled up paper towel to paint accents of black on for an old look.

I made some gears with cardboard and covered in tin foil and began the assembly.

Next was the backing, which was a single piece of cardboard cut and painted with additional gears glued on top for a 3D effect.

Then final assembly 

Not too bad and it's surprisingly strong!!!
