all silent whilst in mittenland

Sunday, January 12, 2014

So sorry for my long absence...I've been lost in mittenland. I had this great plan to complete a certain number of mittens by christmas, and then had every obstacle thrown my way so that this task has turned into quite an affair...and not like the Scandal - Fitz and Liv kind either damn it. But that is all for a future post when I show you all the beautiful pictures of my mitten tribe.
I am back to work part time now, so I drive 4 hours a day to work on a computer for 4 hours for the next 6 weeks. I am trying to use this to my advantage though since I am often trapped in an area with some fellow employee using my inability to escape as their perfect time to vent over the last 3 months of their own personal misery, and I just quietly ponder how much longer it will be til I have to leave. "Oh sorry to interrupt you but its time for me to clock out now..no overtime you know." Whew, its the little things. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining but being off from work for three months because of chronic back pain has taught me a lot, especially about attitude. Being positive even when things are not going your way ensures that those hardships are not there to stay. If you continue to focus on whats wrong you will just bring more of the same into your life. I want more love, peace and joy in my life and this year my new years resolution is to focus on maintaining a positive attitude. YOLO (★^O^★) So take care of yourself and be happy, this life is an amazing gift!
Oh and I did knit a hat, cowl and gloves for my niece for graduation before the mitten adventure began:
